In-House SEO Grows www.BackgroundNow.com Traffic 650%

www.BackgroundNow.com launched August 1, 2003. During the next five years we hired SEO firms and individual programmers to optimize the site for search engine rankings. Nothing worked well enough to justify the expense and we were told that our business category “background checks” was too competitive and there was no point in throwing good money after bad by pursuing SEM / SEO strategies.

For several years our company invested heavily in pay-per-click (PPC) ads, which returned quite a few customers. However, PPC prices steadily escalated until we decided the ROI no longer justified the investment.
