Fayetteville Jewelry Store Robber Jason Stallcup Nabbed

The U.S. Marshals and Fayetteville Police Department, a member of the Northwest Arkansas Sex Offender and Violent Crime Task Force, announce the arrest of Jason Stallcup, age 37. Stallcup has a violent criminal past dating back to 2000, when he was arrested and convicted for several charges including kidnapping, burglary, and battery.

Stallcup was placed on state supervision in Arkansas following his release for prison in January 2003. Less than four months later, he absconded supervision. On December 15th, the Romance Diamond Company in Fayetteville was robbed at gun point, and Stallcup was later identified as the primary suspect. A warrant was issued for Stallcup’s arrest, and the Fayetteville Police Department requested assistance from the Task Force after information was obtained confirming Stallcup had fled the state.
Stallcup was also wanted in Michigan by the U.S. Marshals Service Grand Rapids Fugitive Task Force for Michigan parole violations. Colorado also holds warrants for Stallcup on robbery charges. The U.S. Marshals Service Northwest Arkansas Fugitive Task Force sent leads to South Carolina and Michigan late Friday evening, and a tip was later called in to a local police department near Lansing, Michigan.

Based on the this tip, Michigan State Police, the Michigan Department of Community Corrections, and local authorities arrested Stallcup at a local motel following a vehicle pursuit in which several vehicles were damaged. Stallcup is currently being held at a local facility in Western Michigan where he awaits formal court proceedings on the Michigan charges. Stallcup will be extradited to Arkansas at the conclusion of his legal proceedings in Michigan.
